Conversion forwarding
Delivery and troubleshooting
Check delivery stats, and what happens when a platform is unavailable or rejects your access key.
Delivery stats
Each connection shows how many conversions were sent and how many failed in the last 7 days.
Temporary errors are retried
If a platform is temporarily unavailable or asks Otus to slow down, the delivery is retried automatically, following the platform's own retry hint when it gives one. A conversion that still fails after several attempts is counted as failed.
Rejected access keys
If a platform rejects your access key, for example because it was revoked or expired, Otus pauses that connection and flags it in Site settings. Retrying with the same key can't succeed, so nothing is sent until you fix it:
- Create a new access key in the platform's ad manager (for Google, sign in again).
- Paste it into the connection in Otus.
This way your conversions don't quietly stop arriving.
Nothing arrives at the platform?
- Plan: conversion forwarding needs the Business plan or above.
- Events: check that the event is switched on for that platform.
- Consent: conversions are only sent for visitors who agreed to marketing. Check that your consent banner passes marketing consent to Otus. See consent.
- Click ID: the visitor must have arrived through an ad link with the platform's click ID. For Google Ads, make sure auto-tagging is on.
- Attribution window: in cookieless mode, the conversion must happen in the same visit as the ad click. See Attribution and tracking modes.
