Choose what to send
Every event is off until you switch it on. You decide per platform what it receives, for example purchases to Google and leads to Meta.
Switch events on
- Open Site settings and go to the platform you've connected.
- Switch on the events you want that platform to receive.
Only the events you switch on are forwarded, and only for visitors who agreed to marketing.
How events are translated
Standard events are translated into each platform's own event names automatically:
| Otus event | Meta | TikTok | ChatGPT |
|---|---|---|---|
purchase | Purchase | CompletePayment | order_created |
sign_up | CompleteRegistration | CompleteRegistration | registration_completed |
form_submit | Lead | SubmitForm | lead_created |
add_to_cart | AddToCart | AddToCart | items_added |
begin_checkout | InitiateCheckout | InitiateCheckout | checkout_started |
view_item, view_item_list | ViewContent | ViewContent | contents_viewed |
add_payment_info | AddPaymentInfo | AddPaymentInfo | custom event |
search | Search | Search | custom event |
For Google Ads, every forwarded event is reported to the conversion action you picked when connecting.
Anything else, including custom events, is sent as a custom event under the name you already use.
Revenue
If an event carries a value and currency, such as a purchase with revenue, Otus includes them so the platform can report conversion value. See e-commerce tracking.
Avoid double counting
If a pixel on your site still sends the same event, the platform counts it twice. For each event, either remove the pixel or switch the event off in Otus.
